YJ LS/GEN-III AX-15 5 SPEED Complete Swap Kit. Jeep AX-15/GM 168 Tooth Flywheel. This kit is designed to fit the GM block with a 168 Tooth flywheel and the Gen III/LS engines.
This adapter bellhousing assembly is used to adapt the GM 4.3, V8 to the Jeep AX15, 5 speed manual transmissions. The bellhousing kit includes a 356 T-6 aluminum bellhousing, universal dust cover plate, pilot bushing, AX15 bearing retainer assembly, seal, throw-out arm, slave cylinder push rod, slave cylinder push rod end, ball pivot, fastening hardware, and adapter instructions.
Note: When using a 168th flywheel on your GM 350 engine a gear reduction starter is required. We offer gear reduction starters (p/n 22-0001 & 22-0003).
The AX15 was used in model years 1989-99. It has a overall transmission case length of 24.00”. The output shaft has a positive stick out and is 23 spline. The AX15 was found coupled to the Jeep 4.0L. Through out the years we have seen two different input pilot tip dimensions. 1989-94 used a .590” diameter. 1995-99 used a .750” diameter. AISIN WARNER manufactured many different styles of this transmission that was used by various car manufacturers.
LSx Motor Mount Kit
These sturdy weld-in engine mounts allow the installer to fine-tune the engine placement according to transmission placement or other needs. A double rubber cushion on each side provides vibration isolation at the ends of the two mounts. The rubber cushions are secured with a large 5/8” diameter bolt. The engine side mounts have slots in them so you can position the engine closer to one side of the frame.

The engine mount kit includes two engine side mounts, two weld-in gusseted frame mounts, and rubber mount kit.
Note: These engine mounts fit the new Gen III / IV , LS-Series V8. The mounts have been designed to use with Truck exhaust manifolds or rear dump headers and will interfere with car (Corvette/Camaro/Trans-Am) exhaust manifolds.

-3AN Male/Male 7/16” X 24 Inv, -3AN Male to Male 7/16” X 24 Inv
This is a fitting that has a 7/16" inverted flare on one end, and on the other a -3AN.
Note: This fitting fits Jeep CJ5 / CJ7 / CJ8 hydraulic master and slave cylinders. This fitting fits Jeep Wrangler 1987-91 and Jeep Cherokee XJ/MJ 1984-91 master cylinders.
Hose-60” Stainless, -3 Fitting
This Teflon-lined stainless braided line is manufactured with 7/16-24 female inverted fittings. One fitting is a 90 degree the other is straight and has a length of 60 inches. This hose with a combo of a couple if the fitting listed below can be used to couple the slave cylinder& master cylinder together. Note: Hose does not include fittings. Fittings are sold separately.
This slave cylinder is used on many of our adapter bellhousings. This slave cylinder has a metric fitting, but can be converted to a 3AN fitting by using 716215. Note: does not include push rod, push rod end.
22 lbs Radiator Pressure Cap
The normal operating temperature on most engines is 180 to 200 degrees which generates a pressure of 8-12 pounds. This is true for both carbureted and fuel injected engines. To blow the cap of the radiator the coolant would have to be 270 degrees. Hopefully, the engine would be shut down prior to getting this hot, keeping the coolant inside the radiator. But for added protection, we offer a new 22 lb. radiator pressure cap. This cap works on all of our radiators.

GEN III Vortec Manual Trans Kit
This custom clutch kit is designed to adapt the Gen III / LS series to a GM manual transmission (M21/M22, SM420, SM465, NV4500). The clutch kit includes a custom flywheel, 11mm flywheel bolts, 11” LUK pressure plate & disc, pilot bushing spacer, throw-out bearing, 10mm bellhousing bolts, 10mm lock washers, XRP dowel bolts.
Note: The flywheel included in this kit was developed for exclusive use for Advance Adapters. The flywheel offsets the distance of the disc surface .400 inch towards the transmission to make up for the shallow crank (.340 inch) flange on the LS engines. This design allows full clutch disc spline engagement on the transmission input shaft. The flywheel is relieved on the backside to maintain a 35 lb weight. We can also use this clutch kit with Gen III / LS Engines to Jeep manual transmission (AX15 / NV3550) & Ford manual transmission (NP435/T18). When using these transmissions the throw-out bearing retainer must be machined!
Gen III / LS Engines
The new style Gen III / LS series engines (4.8, 5.3, 5.7 LS1, 6.0, 6.2) all have the same crank stick out which is .400” closer to the block than the old 350 V8. The Gen III / LS series crank bolt pattern is different than any other GM crank as to the bolt pattern on the flex plate. Only Gen III / LS series flywheels fit these engines!!! The Gen III / LS series engines are internally balanced block which is different than the 1986 & newer standard GM blocks (305,350).
Note: The flywheel in this kit does not fit the older 6.0L with cast iron heads & 4.8L that was used with manual transmissions. Kit will not fit 2014 & up Gen V engines (New LT1 V8 & 4.3 V6, 5.3, 6.2).
