6.2L Engine

In 2005, the Generation III was superseded by the Generation IV. This category of engines has provisions for high-displacement ranges up to 7,011 cc (7.011 L; 427.8 cu in) and power output to 638 bhp (476 kW). Based on the Generation III design, Generation IV was designed with displacement on demand in mind, a technology that allows every other cylinder in the firing order to be deactivated. It can also accommodate variable valve timing.

A 3-valve per cylinder design was originally slated for the LS7, which would have been a first for a GM pushrod engine; but the idea was shelved owing to design complexities and when the same two-valve configuration as the other Generation III and IV engines proved to be sufficient to meet the goals for the LS7.

This family of blocks were the first of the generation IV small block with the LS2 being the progenitor of this family and generation. This family of blocks has seen a wide range of applications from performance vehicles to truck usage.

The kit also includes hardware and components that does not typically come with a used or salvage yard engine, such as the wiring harness, mass airflow meter and electronic throttle pedal assembly, eliminating the need to source them separately! 

This controller system is a true stand-alone system for use in older vehicles, as all that's needed to get a vehicle running with it are power and ground sources, a 58-psi (400 kPa) fuel pump and an electric cooling fan.

 • The base is designed to be modular in configuration to accept a wide range of carbureted and EFI tops and to be attractive to builders and fabricators as the foundation for custom induction systems.

• Runner length and the tapered cross–section designed to perform well for a wide range of engine configurations 

• EFI fuel rails are machined for –8AN O–ring Fittings with passages large enough to accommodate high fuel flows and dampen pressure pulsations in the fuel system and come standard with EFI Hi–Ram kits. 

• Cast aluminum construction. 

• Intended for use on N/A or forced induction engines in the 6.0 to 7.0+ liter range, max power at 7000–8000+RPM.

The assemblies use a production bottom end that includes a cast aluminum engine block, nodular iron crankshaft, powdered metal connecting rods and hypereutectic pistons. The Chevrolet Performance 6.2L 376 C.I.D. 495 HP engine assemblies use the race tested LS hot cam. The hydraulic roller camshaft features .525 in. intake and .525 in. exhaust valve lift with a duration at .050 in. of 219 degrees intake and 228 degrees exhaust. The short block is topped with L95 port cylinder heads with as cast 68cc combustion chambers and 2.16 in. intake and 1.59 in, exhaust valves. That puts you at a healthy 10.7:1 compression ratio! Engine assemblies are complete with valve covers, oil pan, timing cover, harmonic balancer, exhaust manifolds, spark plugs, spark plug wires, ignition coil packs and intake manifold.

The answer is 525 horsepower in one of our most powerful production-based crate engines. We call it the LS376/525 and if take-no-prisoner performance is what you’re looking for in your project, this is it!
The ASA camshaft is a hydraulic roller with .525-inch lift on both sides, along with 226 degrees duration on the intake side and 236 degrees on the exhaust side. Coupled with a tight, 110-degree lobe separation angle, it helps the engine deliver excellent throttle response and breathe exceptionally well at high rpm. And for durability, we complement the cam with higher-rate valve springs.
